Adopt-A-Highway
A trained crew from our church shares in semi-annual roadside litter cleanup each spring and fall. We've adopted a one-mile stretch of Algonquin Road, between Lakewood and Frank Roads. Volunteers must be age 10 or older and are required to view a safety video prior to participation.
Compassion International
Our church adopted Esther Mukebezi Ruth of Uganda. Through our support of Compassion International's ministry, Esther receives medical and dental care, school tuition, uniforms and supplies. Her parents receive instruction on hygiene and nutrition and the family learns about God's love through weekly Bible classes, evangelism, discipleship efforts and retreats. Several additional children are being sponsored by families in the church.
Home of the Sparrow
Home of the Sparrow is a non-profit, transitional housing program for homeless women, women with children and pregnant women of the NW Suburbs. Our Missions Team volunteers at the Sparrow's Nest Thrift Shop in Palatine on an as-needed basis. Proceeds of the Sparrow's Nest benefit Home of the Sparrow. We also collect items for thrift shop donation.
Interfaith Food Pantry We deliver non-perishable grocery items each month to the Algonquin-LITH Food Pantry. Donations are received during the month from members of the congregation.
PADS
Public Action to Deliver Shelter operates shelters throughout the McHenry County area from October through April. Volunteers from the church serve as hosts one Friday evening each month.
