A Place of Worship: The main reason we meet together is to focus our attention on God and to learn how to incorporate this focus into our daily lives. Through both traditional and contemporary music, scripture, and a message from the Pastor we experience fulfillment of giving God our praise and receiving his blessings, inspiration and peace. We also expect to be challenged to work on our walk of faith. A Place of Service: It is our mission to reach out in serving others as Jesus Christ served us. This applies to both within the church family and outside in the greater community. We expect our members to identify and nurture their talents and gifts and offer them to the service of others. A Place of Enrichment: There are a number of programs, retreats, and classes offered throughout the year for personal growth and enrichment on a spiritual level. These exciting ministries offer children, youth and adults the opportunity to obtain greater fulfillment in the personal and individual walk of life. A Place of Learning: The importance of learning about God as revealed in scripture is essential to the growth of an individual and the growth of our Church. In the United Methodist tradition, we turn to scripture, tradition, experience and reason to grow in our faith and relationship with God. Outside of Sunday morning worship, there are a number of ways to seek this relationship. We offer Sunday school classes for our children as well as short-term adult study groups that gather on Sunday mornings. In addition, there are several adult small groups that meet throughout the week. There is also an active youth group that meets to absorb the Word of God in a relevant way for them. A Place of Community: Nothing compares to the joy of Christian community. You will find many ways to make connections with our Church family that can cultivate new relationships through shared interests, entertainment, common goals, and an emphasis on family activities. We encourage everyone to participate in a class or small fellowship group as well as numerous church-wide social opportunities. We like to laugh and show our joy in humor with safe boundaries, but we also endeavor to be active and supportive when struggles, sadness or loss touches our community. |
